About Us

 

Mission Statement:

The mission of the Spina Bifida Association of Delaware Valley is to promote the prevention of Spina Bifida and to enhance the lives of all affected.

 

Goals:

  1. To foster and promote the human rights and well being of all people having the condition known as spina bifida and hydrocephalus.
  2. To promote research into the cause, improved treatment and prevention of spina bifida and associated defects.
  3. To promote, encourage, and stimulate the care, treatment, education, socialization, vocational development, and normalization of persons with these conditions.
  4. To promote the training of competent personnel to aid in the treatment, care, education, adjustment, and rehabilitation of persons with these conditions.
  5. To promote public awareness and action by initiating efforts to inform the public about spina bifida and associated defects.
  6. To receive by gift, device, bequest, or otherwise money or other property, or any estate therein, legal or equitable, and to hold the same and expend, contribute, disburse, and otherwise handle and dispose of the same for the promotion of the foregoing purposes.
  7. This organization is dedicated to exclusively educational and non-profit purposes of the above mentioned activities and no substantial part of the activities may be to influence legislation by propaganda or otherwise.
